Whistleblower scheme
We wish to be a transparent and responsible company
As of 1st January 2023, Port of Aalborg assumes responsibility for the operation and development of the container terminal in the East Port in a new growth-oriented structure. For the rest of 2022, Royal Arctic Line will be winding up its activities at the container terminal in readiness for the takeover. However, customers and partners can continue to use the terminal in the meantime.
There will be ample opportunity to continue activities at the container terminal during the remainder of 2022. There are regular weekly calls by Unifeeder, which enjoys close ties with such formidable shipping companies as CMA CGM, OOCL & Evergreen, along with a number of other shipping companies that also use the container terminal in Aalborg either by ship or rail.
Availing of the terminal’s services
Services at the terminal remain unchanged, e.g. quality control and cleaning of the containers, PTI checks and preparation of refrigerated/freezer containers, small repairs and similar. These services are performed at the terminal and the workshop, while major repairs on both dry cargo and refrigerated containers will only be available from the beginning of 2023, when Port of Aalborg assumes control of the container terminal and the workshop is transferred to a new operator.
Opening hours for the remainder of 2022
Opening hours for the rest of 2022 are 07.00-15.45. However, opening hours may be extended to 17.00, if specific check-in and delivery times are agreed with the gate by telephone +45 24639762 or mail to droe@ral.dk. This must be done on the day, before 12.00.
Future development in collaboration with the users
Port of Aalborg is currently in the process of developing the new setup for the container terminal, so that in the future it will become an even stronger growth driver for the North Jutland business community, especially the users of the terminal.
The potential is tremendous! The container terminal features 100,000 m2 of vacant space with plenty of room for developing areas such as depots for full or empty containers from ship or rail, warehouse capacity, customs warehouse, 1.5 km dock at the terminal for servicing ships, use of mobile cranes, railway tracks directly into the terminals, RO-RO calls and more. We intend to develop all of this, both in the long and short term, together with our customers, partners and other players with an interest in container options to and from North Jutland.
