Aalborg Container Terminal is transforming from a classic container terminal to a growth driver for your business and the remaining North Jutland industry. The aim is to create competitiveness for the users of the terminal, shipping goods in and out of Aalborg. And the means are technological cargo handling, flexibility and tailor-made solutions that we fashion in collaboration with you to suit your business.
The container terminal is open every weekday from 7.00 AM to 5.00 PM
Our 89,000 m2 container terminal has optimal settings for the efficient handling of containers. Among others:
Port of Aalborg participates in the international EU research project AEGIS (Advanced Efficient and Green Inter-modal System), in which smart technologies and automation solutions are developed and tested using Port of Aalborg as a test platform. Specific proposals are also being created for how to construct a new fully automated terminal that can handle both RORO, container and bulk transport via short sea shipping and the rail network, both of which have tremendous potential for making the transport sector greener.

Aalborg Container Terminal
In order to make it easier for exporters to comply with the applicable SOLAS Convention, the container terminal is offering free VGM weighing of sea containers (determination of verified weight). It is simple and expedient. Simply register in the PICit IT system and order the weighing digitally. When this is completed, the shipping company is automatically informed about the weight of the container, and you also receive an email stating the weight.
All users of the terminal have the opportunity to avail of container repair and servicing at ProTruck’s workshop located inside the terminal area. The workshop commands an extensive range of equipment and machinery to handle all repair and service tasks. At the same time, the workshop places an emphasis on continuous transitioning to greener equipment, which also contributes positively to your overall environmental accounts.
You can avail of a number of facilities located inside the terminal area:
You have the option to use a variety of different shipping companies that operate at Aalborg Container Terminal and can transport your cargo to and from the rest of the world.
The container terminal features its own railway track and railway terminal with direct access to the European rail network. This enables fast and efficient loading of containers to and from the railway wagons, and with five weekly calls affords you great flexibility and the opportunity to handle goods to and from the railway when it suits you. Last but not least, the greener profile of rail contributes positively to reducing your company’s carbon footprint.
