Partnership with ProTruck contributes to an efficient and flexible terminal

When Port of Aalborg took charge of daily operations at the container terminal in 2023, it was the start of a new strong partnership with one of Denmark’s leading suppliers of machinery and logistics solutions.

Today, the partnership is well-underway with ProTruck, who performs tasks within DC and reefer as well as customer-specific projects – including special constructions, renovation and insulation of containers.

In addition to having delivered more than 30 machines for daily operations, ProTruck is also responsible for repair and service tasks on containers that need it. This benefits both local companies and stakeholders:

– We are extremely satisfied with our collaboration with ProTruck. Already within the year’s first six months, it has contributed to a smooth operation of the container terminal. With ProTruck’s presence, we have optimal conditions for offering a flexible terminal that can be tailored for our customers’ needs and support their businesses. And that’s exactly what we want the container terminal to be capable of, says Director of Operation at Port of Aalborg, Søren Bæk Christensen and elaborates:

– The fact that ProTruck can also provide repair services directly at the terminal is also a great benefit for our customers, who need repair of damaged containers.

Contributes to greener container operations with electric machinery

An important part of ProTruck’s presence at the East port is that the daily operations at the container terminal are made greener. According to Zilas Weinholt, Production Manager, this is quite natural as more and more companies and customers focus on the green transition in the transport and logistics sector.

This means, among other things, that ProTruck can supply electric machines for any purpose – also container handling.

– Customers are continuously placing greater demands on suppliers and subcontractors, and we must of course support this development. Therefore, we have electrified everything we can both internally and in our product range. Of course, we are still working on reorganizing the last part as the technological development continuous, he explains.

ProTruck is aso benefitting from its location at the East port

It is not only customers who experience value from the location at the East port in Aalborg. For ProTruck, the location in Aalborg has meant that the transport of machines has become even easier:

– With our quayside location in Aalborg, we do not have to transport our machines in trucks from Sweden, since we can have them sailed. Recently, we saved the road transport of 12 lorries from Sweden, which were instead sailed to Aalborg. And we will definitely transport more machines by sea in the future. We are therefore very pleased to be located in Aalborg, says Zilas Weinholt.

In addition to selling new machines, ProTruck is among the world leaders in repair and renovation of used equipment. The company is frontrunner of the Life Cycle Solutions Project in close cooperation with the Swedish machine manufacturer Kalmar. Here, the purpose is to refurbish and optimize used machines to today’s standards. This not only means that CO2 emissions from the machine-producing countries are reduced but can also be seen as the start of a more climate-conscious machinery industry.
