WindEnergy Hamburg, taking place from 22–25 September 2026, is the world’s largest trade fair covering the entire value chain of the international wind energy industry. The event brings together more than 40,000 participants from 100 countries and 1,600 exhibiting companies.

A leading wind industry port with plenty of space

Aalborg plays a key international role in the wind energy industry as a recognised wind industry port, offering an attractive business environment as well as a strong presence of leading companies and suppliers in the port area.

• 2.86 million square metres: Port of Aalborg operates one of Denmark’s largest contiguous port and business areas, with 2.86 million square metres dedicated to the production, testing and storage of offshore wind components in particular.
• 1.4 million square metres of additional quay-side areas: The wind industry needs large areas close to the quay to handle the very large and heavy components used in offshore wind farms. Unlike many other European ports, Port of Aalborg has extensive quay-side capacity that can be made available quickly as demand from the industry grows.
• DKK 550 million invested in the wind industry: In recent years, Port of Aalborg has made significant investments to strengthen its ability to serve the wind industry. Since 2023, the port has invested close to DKK 550 million in, among other things, customised areas for companies, land acquisitions to secure future expansion opportunities, and the launch of a major quay expansion project.
• 3,000–4,000 wind industry jobs at the port: The business area around the port in Aalborg is home to a number of major wind industry companies, including Siemens Gamesa, CS WIND Offshore, BLAEST, ProCon Wind Energy, Sterke and a wide range of suppliers. Between 3,000 and 4,000 jobs in the port area are directly linked to these activities.
