Press release from Dachser Denmark:
The logistics provider Dachser is growing on the Danish market and is now entering the area of Northern Jutland. The new office, which is part of the Port of Aalborg business park, will open during the first half of 2024 and will become a hub for connections to the Nordic groupage network.
The logistics provider with roots in Germany strengthens its market position in Denmark by opening a branch in North Jutland as part of the logistics hub in the port area of Aalborg East, just 6.2 kilometers from the central motorway E45.
– We look forward to soon being able to offer our services locally and strengthen our Nordic network with the strategic location in Port of Aalborg’s business park, says Peter Hut, Country Manager for Dachser Denmark’s road logistics division.
– The expansion of our network is an important investment and milestone for us – both in terms of our Danish and Nordic connections and proximity to our customers and future customers in the area.
Namely transport and logistics is one of the focus areas of Port of Aalborg, and Kristian Thulesen Dahl, CEO of the port, shares his view of Dachser’s impending branch opening:
– An international logistics supplier like Dachser strengthens the entire area. We have experienced an increasing demand from our customers for flexible, tailored logistics solutions, and Dachser will expand the possibilities significantly with their extensive experience and network. This will be a great advantage for businesses in the vicinity. So yes, we are very excited and have high expectations for Dachser’s presence.
Central location in Nordic network
The first step in Dachser Denmark’s establishment in northern Jutland will be to move a team of five employees from the road transport branch in Kolding to the premises in Port of Aalborg’s business park, where they will start up an office, own goods handling and own local distribution under the leadership of the manager of the logistics center in Kolding, General Manager Per Jensen.
– We are pleased to bring our logistics solutions and expertise closer to our customers in North Jutland. We are now starting to establish ourselves locally with a satellite branch, which gives us increased flexibility in meeting the needs of local companies, including pick-up and delivery of goods. Once we have found our foothold in the market, we will gradually strengthen our presence with more employees and generally optimize our processes in northern Jutland, says General Manager Per Jensen.
The foundation for the future is laid with 2,046 square meters terminal building with six docking gates and 471 square meters of office space. The logistics supplier with a focus on high quality and full transparency throughout the supply chain will supply companies in Denmark’s northernmost region via several daily departures from the branch in Kolding to Aalborg and from there with local distribution in collaboration with local haulage companies. The new branch will become a natural extension of both the Danish and Nordic networks with good connections to Gothenburg and thereby the rest of Sweden, Norway and Finland.
– Our entry into Aalborg is also an expansion of our network in Jutland, and we look forward to delivering tailored solutions to our customers and contributing positively to the strong local business community, says Country Manager Peter Hut.
