Lars Jøker, Project Director in Port of Aalborg’s new Research & Development department, has been appointed the new Chairman of ErhvervsNetværk 9220 (Business Network 9220). He takes over from Port of Aalborg’s Chief Technical & Sustainability Officer, Mette Schmidt, who continues as Vice Chairman of the business network with a specific focus on Aalborg East.
When ErhvervsNetværk 9220 gathers for this year’s general meeting on March 3 it will be with a new chairman in charge. From January 1, Lars Jøker has taken over the chairman position from Chief Technical & Sustainability Officer at Port of Aalborg, Mette Schmidt. After more than three years as Chairman of the Board she is now returning to the role as Vice Chairman.
59-year-old Lars Jøker has been part of ErhvervsNetværk 9220’s board of directors for three years managing the position of treasurer.
Lars Jøker is Project Director in Port of Aalborg’s new Research & Development department, which builds on the work started in the maritime research centre Center for Logistik og Samarbejde (Centre for Logistics and Collaboration). Jøker has years of experience from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Danish Technological Institute. Now, he is looking forward to another exciting role in ErhvervsNetværk 9220:
– First of all, I am very humbled and proud to be appointed Chairman of the business network. The network plays a major role in the business development of the eastern part of Aalborg, which is an important growth area in North Jutland. In addition to growth and jobs, the network’s members also contribute to the overall development of the area for the benefit of citizens, associations, and business owners, says Lars Jøker.
Business network with green ambitions gave life to Green Hub Denmark
ErhvervsNetværk 9220 was founded in 2010 and has ever since been a catalyst for a long list of business activities in Aalborg East. It was among the network’s board of directors and members that the initial thoughts started about what would become the establishment of Green Hub Denmark.
Today, Green Hub Denmark is a recognised partner group of local industry players, including Port of Aalborg, who collaborate on the development of green business models and solutions.
According to Lars Jøker, Green Hub Denmark is a great example of what the network is capable of achieving:
– Green Hub Denmark is a great example of Aalborg’s ability to collaborate across public and private players. Aalborg has a strategically unique location where several companies with the green agenda. At the same time, Aalborg University is located in the area, which has had a huge impact on us being able to facilitate the green transition right here in the area.
When talking about the future of the network, Lars Jøker is determined. ErhvervsNetværk 9220 will continue its work to strengthen the framework for growth and strong partnerships in Aalborg’s business community.
– The last two years have, of course, been challenged by the fact that we have not been able to organise physical events to the same extent as we have wanted to. But now we can really start to focus on facilitating strong partnerships again, which has been a crucial element in the development of the area. I cannot wait to welcome members back to networking events and morning meetings, says Lars Jøker.
