Local battery distributor inaugurates new domicile in Aalborg

The East Port in Aalborg has welcomed a new resident. In 2021, the battery distributor Danbrit Akkumulator A/S and Port of Aalborg entered into an agreement on the construction of a new domicile with office and warehouse facilities. Recently, the new facilitites were put into operation.

The inauguration of the new facilities takes place after several years of solid growth, which has increased the need for space. That is why Danbrit Akkumulator is now excited to finally be able to move in:

– In recent years, lack of space has been a challenge for us. Now we have extra storage capacity all gathered at one place, while we can combine it with new office facilities at the same time. Fortunately, the construction has progressed accordingly after a good collaboration with both Myhlenberg Byg A/S and Port of Aalborg, says CEO of Danbrit Akkumulator Hugo Møller.

Room to expand in the future

The well-established battery wholesaler is authorized agency for Varta and Bosch and sells, among other things, starter and drive batteries to the growing market of auto wholesalers and dealers. At the new location in Aalborg, Danbrit Akkumulator sees great opportunities to continue the development.

– When the idea of a new domicile started to sprout, it was natural for us to look towards the eastern part of Aalborg, where a big part of the regional business development takes place. With the new location, we are now situated close to our freight center, and we can take advantage of the logistical opportunities the area has to offer. At the same time, we have the opportunity to expand if the need arises in the future. In that way, the location is ideal, explains Hugo Møller.

New business area to support local growth

The building is 8,550 square meters and built on Port of Aalborg’s new development area Ankeret. An area that is currently undergoing major changes with new business facilities and recreational surroundings.

– We wish to create the framework for a strong business area that acts as a catalyst for local business growth Therefore, we are of course pleased to welcome Danbrit Akkumulator to their new domicile, where they are an important part of the development plan in the area, says Senior Commercial Manager, Real Estate, at Port of Aalborg, Jeppe Faber. He elaborates:

– In addition to the new domicile, we recently inaugurated our new office building C-House, which is also located in the Ankeret area, where several tenants have already moved in. This proves the great interest in establishing activities in the area, where we offer not only good logistics opportunities, but also the opportunity to collaborate with other players across the value chain, he concludes.
