At Port of Aalborg A/S, we continuously strive to maintain a reasonable level of travel and representation expenses related to our activities. Here are the total costs in 2023.
Port of Aalborg’s annual statement on total costs includes activities for all employees and the board of directors in the group, comprising the parent company Port of Aalborg A/S and seven subsidiaries: Port of Aalborg Logistics, Port of Aalborg Research & Development, Aalborg Stevedore Company, Port of Aalborg Real Estate, Port of Aalborg Rail, Port of Aalborg Tank Storage, and Aalborg Toldoplag.
Travel and representation expenses are only incurred in the three first-mentioned subsidiaries, with the vast majority located in the port’s administrative company, Port of Aalborg Logistics.
The representation expenses for these three companies amount to approximately 640,000 Danish Kroner in 2023. This represents a slight increase of 2.6% compared to 2022, primarily attributable to inflation.
In contrast, travel expenses decreased by 40.4% in 2023, totaling around 433,000 Danish Kroner. This reflects our recent focus on reducing expenses throughout the group, including online meetings whenever possible.
Overall, the travel and representation expenses mirror the development strategy of the Port of Aalborg Group: To contribute as effectively as possible to the Business and Sustainability Strategies of Aalborg Municipality. Both focus areas require sales and networking activities, as our success as a company depends on our partners. Therefore, we maintain a high level of activity to support the societal and economic development of Aalborg.
The strategy has proven resilient with positive growth within Port of Aalborg’s three focus areas: business park, cargo & logistics, and green transition.
