Today, the Port of Aalborg Group constituted its new Board of Directors at an extraordinary general meeting.
Following the municipal elections, Aalborg City Council has been constituted, resulting in a new composition of the Board of Directors of the Port of Aalborg Group. The Board now brings together a broad and strong set of competencies, ensuring the continued development of the port as a key driver of business, employment and growth in North Jutland.
City Councillor Nuuradiin Hussein has been appointed Chair of the Board. He is already familiar with Port of Aalborg through previous board work and now assumes overall responsibility for the Board. Lars Krull continues as Vice Chair, having served as an external board member for several years.
The Board is also strengthened by the addition of a new external member, Gitte Lillelund Bech. She brings extensive experience from both the political sphere and the business community, along with in-depth knowledge of the maritime sector and the interaction between industry and public decision-making processes.
Chair of the Board Nuuradiin Hussein states:
– Port of Aalborg is one of Aalborg Municipality’s most important companies. The port creates value, jobs and development for the entire region. I look forward to taking on the role of Chair together with a strong and competent Board, where experience, local insight and external perspectives go hand in hand. We are building on the solid work of the previous Board, which deserves recognition for the development the port has undergone.
Commenting on the appointment of Gitte Lillelund Bech, he adds:
– With former Minister of Defence Gitte Lillelund Bech, the Board gains an experienced and highly competent member who contributes deep insight into the port sector and the political framework conditions that are crucial to Port of Aalborg’s operations.
