Medical company is expanding with warehouse facilities in the general cargo area

Scandinavian Medical Solutions was only just founded in 2018, but today the company has grown into a major international player with over 30 employees. The fast-paced medical company is a sales provider of high-quality pre-owned medical imaging equipment to customers all over the world.

Now, the positive growth has increased the need for space. Port of Aalborg and Scandinavian Medical Solutions have therefore entered into a lease agreement of new warehouse space at the general cargo area in Aalborg.

– For some time now, we have been looking for suitable storage facilities for our mobile units and modules. These are our mobile scanning clinics that are ready to be used when our customers need additional scanning capacity. The units are transported by truck, so they can easily be moved around large parts of the world. But when they are not in use, they need to be prepared and maintained on an ongoing basis, preferably in dry weather. The two new warehouses meet this need, says CEO Jens Hvid Paulsen.

Moves across the Atlantic – and across the road

Scandinavian Medical Solutions has customers all over the world, and earlier this year the founder of the company, Jens Krohn, moved to the US to establish the US subsidiary.

However, the head office is still located at “Gassen” in Aalborg, which is just a stone’s throw from the warehouses.

– Our requirements for the new warehouse facilities were that they could accommodate our large equipment and that they were close to our office. We found this with the warehouse in the general cargo area, which is just across the road, explains Jens Hvid Paulsen.

Scandinavian Medical Solutions is not the only company in need of more square meters. Port of Aalborg has more than 175,000 square meters of warehouse and logistics facilities – and demand is high.

– Due to the high level of interest, we have significantly expanded our storage capacity in recent years. Most recently by 10,000 square meters last year. Today, warehouse facilities are used by a wide variety of companies for a wide variety of purposes. Fortunately, our facilities all support the companies’ growth and business, just like Scandinavian Medical Solutions, says Jeppe Faber, Senior Commercial Manager, Real Estate, Port of Aalborg.

Scandinavian Medical Solutions moved into the new facilities in January.
