Greener business development

Aalborg is undergoing rapid development, and the business community is constantly growing. However, it is crucial that the community grows the right way. Consequently, we are involved in a wide range of partnerships and collaborations both regionally and nationally, which help to continuously enhance the conditions for greener growth.

Stronghold for green transition

A number of strategic networks and partnerships across governments, organisations, knowledge institutions and companies are working together on a broad range of green development projects within sustainable solutions and business models.

The common purpose is to contribute to Aalborg Municipality’s business development strategy “Aalborg catches the future” where, among other things, green security of supply is one of the focus areas in supporting and attracting businesses working with green transition.

Green business models are central to Network for Sustainable Business Development North Denmark and Business Network 9220. Business Network 9220 is a strategic partnership between nearly 200 companies in Aalborg East and is behind major EU supported development projects such as Environment++ and Industrial Symbiosis North.

The aim is quite simple: we wish to mitigate environmental impacts while advancing the positive economic benefits of green initiatives.

Businesses’ gate to green

Port of Aalborg is a green production, knowledge and test hub, predicated upon making processes greener – both in our own company and together with the companies in our business park.  We achieve this by engaging into partnerships, facilitating corporate symbiosis, developing sustainable business models, attracting green energy companies, minimising resource waste, optimising energy consumption, supporting our customers’ climate agenda and much more.  We are also ready to be  your gate to green.

Path to a sustainable business park

Net zero is a key focal point for the business park at Port of Aalborg, where determined, ambitious and visionary efforts are ongoing to reduce CO2 and other greenhouse gases, compensating both production and the value chain. Some of the companies in the area are already well on their way, while others have just begun, but the common will of all is to be proactive and take climate action together with Aalborg and the rest of the world – both individually and collectively.
