Rail terminals
The port area is directly connected to the European rail network, providing high flexibility and enabling around-the-clock cargo handling by rail, 365 days a year.
We operate 16 kilometers of track, including our own shunting tracks and six rail terminals within the port area. Tracks run directly into several key areas, including a terminal at the RoRo ramps, enabling us to handle all types of cargo, such as trailers, containers, breakbulk, and palletized goods.
Aalborg Container Terminal
In Aalborg, you’ll find an 89,000 sqm container terminal within the secured ISPS area. With a weekly feeder route connecting to two of the world’s largest container ports, Hamburg and Bremerhaven, Aalborg is integrated into the global logistics network.
Adjacent to the container terminal, you’ll find an intermodal logistics setup with direct access to rail, sea, and road, offering ideal conditions for combined logistics solutions for containers.

Open, reinforced quay area
At the Multiterminal by the RoRo ramps, there are large, open quay areas.
Located within the ISPS perimeter, the Multiterminal covers 36,000 sqm, of which 15,000 sqm are designated for cargo storage, both in open yard space and in quay-adjacent warehouses. If you require a custom setup in the area, we’ll adapt it together to meet your needs.
The entire area is paved with concrete pavers, and the quays are reinforced. The RoRo ramps accommodate vessels with drafts up to 9.40 meters and a max LOA of 250 meters.
Favorable trailer conditions
Agility in cargo operations is a competitive advantage for you and us. And we act on that.
You’ll experience flexible conditions for trailer drop-off and pick-up, giving you greater freedom in transport planning.
We don’t impose “just-in-time” requirements, and our facilities are designed to accommodate temporary trailer storage, reefers included, whether delivered early or picked up late.
Efficient cargo handling
You’ll benefit from optimal conditions for efficient handling of all cargo types. Port of Aalborg handles around 3 million tonnes of cargo annually, and our staff operate our diverse fleet of machinery in-house.
- 3 large mobile cranes (Liebherr LHM 280, 420, and 550)
- 2 smaller mobile cranes
- Trucks and construction machinery
- Floating equipment
All cargo is handled securely by our own specialized stevedores. You’ll find the expertise and experience to manage and store your goods, and we assist you throughout the entire process, from reception and screening to handling, storage, packing, and onward distribution.
